HOW TO KEEP IN GOOD SPIRITS DURING HARD AND CHALLENGING TIMES

HOW TO KEEP IN GOOD SPIRITS DURING HARD AND CHALLENGING TIMES

It's hard to keep our kids safe in a world where bad things happen. But we can't let that fear take over and ruin their lives. Let's focus on the good, the happy moments, and give them every opportunity for success. In Little Roseberry, living the moment is our motto, and today we want to let you know what are some things we do to keep our minds off the bad and how to enjoy the good.

Are you a glass half-empty or half-full sort of person? Stay positive. There are so many things to be thankful for in the world, and in your life. Appreciate all the small moments that make up our daily lives. Smile when you show up at work, even if it's just to put on a brave face. Have faith that tomorrow will be better than today, because what other choice do we really have? And remember this: life is too short not to enjoy every moment of it!

Choose your company wisely

You know how it is. There are days when the only people you want to see are your kids and family members. And then there are those other days where you're feeling down and need a little pick-me-up from some good company. If we can't be with our friends or families, why not go out and spend time with positive people? Surrounding yourself with people who match your personality and energy is essential to keep up your spirits.

Talk to yourself (and others) nicely

Do you ever find yourself constantly criticizing yourself? If so, try to change your self-talk. Positive self-talk is a powerful tool that can help improve the way we think about ourselves and how we feel about our accomplishments. Same thing happens with kids, make sure you reinforce their self-esteem by pointing out the good and praising the improvements they’re working on.

Keep track of the good times and blessings in your life

We all know the importance of gratitude. We can all be grateful for our loved ones, our friends, and our families. However, what many people don't realize is that we should also be grateful for little things like a sunny day or a good night's sleep. Keeping an ongoing journal of things you are thankful for is not only healthy but will make you feel better in general!

Pay attention to the good things that surround you

In today's world, it is so easy to focus on the bad things. It seems as if we are bombarded with negativity and worry every day. I want to encourage you that there is good in this world and even more good in your life! If you can't find anything to be happy about, start looking for little moments of joy and happiness. Life isn't always going to be perfect, but it doesn't have to suck either! Take a deep breath and focus on the positive - one step at a time.

Notice what brings you down

When it comes to your areas of negativity, the more you know, the better equipped you will be to work on it. You can't change what you don't recognize! It’s important to identify those common negative traits and habits that we have, and look for ways on how to break them. A good place to start is by taking an inventory of what makes you unhappy or frustrated. Once these are identified, try adjusting them one at a time until they are more aligned with your values and goals. This will take some work but will pay off in the end!

Sometimes it feels like you’ve read all the blogs, watched all the youtube videos, and even tried some of the advice. You know that your thoughts have a profound effect on your life. But you can’t undo years of pessimism and negative thoughts overnight. Keep at it! The more you work with this stuff, the more positive things will happen in your life because of it.  Look for those moments where you feel a hint of joy. You know that moment when you see your child's artwork on the fridge and it instantly makes you feel good? Or how about when you have a conversation with someone new and they're so interested in what you have to say that they forget to notice the little things like your hair. It feels amazing, right? All those moments can be great for making us feel happy and proud of ourselves. There are plenty of ways to approach life positively!
